Volunteer Opportunities

We don’t use volunteers—we ARE volunteers.  The Board of Trustees, the clinical group leaders and facilitators, the office and thrift store assistants, the committee members, the psychodramatists—all are volunteers.  The small paid staff also volunteers extensively so that together, 250 volunteers strong, we deliver more than 30,000 client counseling hours each year.

For information about volunteering in any of the following areas, call Barbara Shaffer, volunteer manager, at the Center.

Clinical
Facilitator Training Course - The FTC, offered semiannually, provides the opportunity for community residents, regardless of academic qualifications, to learn our counseling techniques and possibly become a clinical volunteer.

Administrative
Administrative assistance for special mailings.

Thrift Store
Thrift Store - We are always in need of volunteer sales associates

Committees
You can join, or submit your ideas to, the Public Relations and/or Fund Raising Committees. How?  Merely send us an email addressed to the appropriate committee and someone will contact you.  We encourage new and practical ways to make the community more aware of our services and new ways to contact people who need help.

Psychodramatists
Psychodramatists - The Center’s Psychodramatists perform skits depicting typical life situations and relationship conflicts.
